How To Add A Minecraft Server Java Edition 2018

Hi everyone, this is InvisibleMystery and
welcome. Today I’m going to be showing you how you can connect
to a Minecraft multiplayer server where you can play with your friends and people from
all over the world. So, let’s get straight into it! So, when you load up Minecraft, you need to
click on multiplayer and you’ll see a screen something similar to this, but without these servers. So then go to add server and then in this box
type the name of the server. It doesn’t really matter what you put here,
as long as you can remember it later. So, for example, if I wanted to connect to
Hypixel, which I think is currently the most popular Minecraft server out there, I’d maybe
type in hypixel, just like this, and then later on, I’d be able to remember that this
was the Hypixel server. This next box is the one that really matters. If you don’t know which server you want to
join yet, I’ll put a link in the description box down below with a link to a website where
there are a bunch of servers and you can click on them, but you need to find the IP address
of the server. If you do know which server you want to join,
go over to their website, and they should be able to tell you the IP address address
there, but you need to copy this exactly as it is on the website into this box. So, if I’m going to connect to Hypixel, I
know that the IP address is mc.hypixel.net and I type it in exactly as it is, in this
box. But you have to make sure it is exactly as
it is on the website, otherwise it won’t work. This next bit doesn’t really matter, but definitely
don’t have it set to enabled, like this, unless you definitely trust the server, otherwise
you might get sent a virus, and you definitely don’t want that! Have it either set to prompt, or, even better,
disabled like I’m going to have it. When you’ve done, click done and you’ll see
it appear here in your list of servers. Just remember that you log onto these servers
at your own risk. Now that you’ve added your server, if you
have more than one, you can move the servers up and down by using these arrows here. You can move it up, like this, and the down
one moves it down. You can also see some other things about the
servers, for example these green bars here show you your ping to the server, which is
basically your connection. The number of bars tells you how good it is,
and you can also see some other information about the server under the server name. When you’re ready to join, click join server,
just like that, and you’ll see a screen like this to show that you’re logging on. It may take a while because it has to connect
to wherever the server is being hosted, but you should eventually log on, like this and
now you can play with players from all over the world. Anyway, that’s it for this video. I hope you found it useful. If you did please leave a like and subscribe
to show your support. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the
next one. Goodbye!
